Access to organic food is important to our family. So, when we’re home, we grow it, sell it and eat it as much as possible. We are also fortunate that many farms in our area produce gorgeous, alive food. But, when we travel, finding organics becomes difficult, so we just go with the flow of the local food scene.
However, eating has become a little more complicated for my family. Food allergies – doh! At home, I can cook around the “issues,” but on the road, these sensitivities can make eating feel like work. So, if I can find organic, healthy, local foods – I want them. If there are chefs out there who can adapt their cooking to customers with food allergies, I’m there. And, if I can shop at small co-ops, local farmer’s markets, or find super-foods and other forms of goodness, I am very happy.
We compiled a list of resources to help find healthy foods along your journey. Included are guides for vegans and vegetarians too. We’re always happy to add to the list, so be sure to share your favorite places with us.
